The Region

The Brenne is the largest natural wetland in France with many small villages, rivers and lakes. Mazerolles is located near to the river Indre from which the Department takes it's name.

The Indre is an undiscovered gem, ideal for nature lovers, bird watchers, fishermen, walkers and cyclists.

The Brenne is known for its flora and fauna, including its rich birdlife, pond tortoises, dragonflies and butterflies. There really is something for everybody - to visit castles, flee and other local markets, local markets and picturesque villages.



  • Golf, Golf du Val de L'Indre
  • Horse riding, next to the farmhouse is a horse riding school where you for a day under supervision of an instructor can make a journey by horse.
  • Canoeing on the Indre and Creuse
  • Swimming and other water sports

Everywhere in the area you can swim in natural clear water, in small rivers or in lakes. You can also rent pedal- or sailing  boats. On some of the lakes a range of watersports is on offer.
